What’s a Giclée print on canvas ?

The giclée printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.  In giclée printing, no screen or other mechanical devices are used and therefore there is no visible dot screen pattern. The image has all the tonalities and hues of the original painting. Giclée (pronounced Gee’clay) is a French term meaning to spray, which is how an inkjet printer works.

Archival quality ensures that the prints are light-fast and non water soluble.  All of our canvases have UVB protection built in to protect against fading and moisture and are designed to last for over 100 years.

What’s the difference between Gallery wrapped (stretched) and Rolled canvas?

Wrapped prints canvas are stretched and mounted on a sturdy wooden frame and they are ready to hang, while Rolled canvas comes rolled in a tube for you to stretch on your own, or to display as you wish.

How is the canvas stretched?

We use a propriety blend of canvas that is stretched over 1.5 wooden stretcher bars.

Do you include hanging string with your canvases?

Yes.  The string is securely attached to the back of your stretched canvas and provide excellent support even on bigger sizes. You will need just a nail or a hanger on your wall.  If you have older walls or special finishes please take this into consideration before installation. If you have any questions regarding the hanging hardware , please do not hesitate to contact us.

How long will the canvas last?

The canvas material we use is archival quality and has a specifically designed coating for superior color gamut and resolution. Canvases are only intended for indoor use, but even in display of direct window light should still last for decades to come.

How are the canvases packaged?

We have had our boxes specifically designed to protect your canvas while in shipping. Canvases come in a plastic bag to keep out moisture and are held securely in the center of the box.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, we can ship all over the world. Please contact us for a quote about shipping cost for your particular country.

If you can receive a package via UPS or FedEx, then we can ship to you. We recommend rolled canvas for shipping outside the US.

Please note: the recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches its destination country.  Any additional charges for customs clearance must be paid by the recipient.

Do you offer frames for your canvases?

Yes, we offer a float frame option for our canvases.  The float frame comes in black finish.  Please send a request for a quote about framed canvas. The price will vary depending of the size.

Can I order a custom size?

We can accommodate custom sizes.  Please contact us to request a custom quote. Most of Giorgio Casu images are HD and can support big size canvases, providing the superb copy of the original artwork.

Can I hang a canvas in a bathroom?

Yes, just make sure the canvas is not in direct contact with water.

How do I take care of my canvas?  Do I need to clean it?

Typically your canvas will just need a light dusting every now and then.  If you find that you need to spot clean the canvas, use a damp cloth that has only water on it.  Chemicals can react with the ink and ruin the canvas.

Do you have a catalogue that you can send me?

The catalogue is available online only for now.  We are happy to assist you with any questions.

What is your return policy?

We are very confident of the quality of our product. If, however, your order arrives damaged, please contact us immediately at info@giorgiocasu.com,  as well as the shipper (UPS, FEDEX etc.)  to report the damage. Keep the box and all packaging as the shipper might want to assess the damage and determine if the damage resulted from their handling.
